Can you paint our picture with our dogs? Can you paint us in our wedding attire? Can you do that even if it has not happened Yet? Well...of course! This sweet couple with their dogs has my heart. Alex Fly took this sweet watercolor and the florals I painted and created a beautiful paper suite that her quests will remember. My best advice to brides...be yourself...do what you want to do. Don't let Pinterest try to tell you what you want! Stay original.
Just one of the paintings completed during the holidays for a sweet friend of mine. One of the Islands in Italy. I would love to visit there one day.
So this is Summer. Bright sunny days spent barefoot and free to swing or do the things that we can not do when the weather is cold. I remember what it is like to swing high and feel the wind in my hair. Painting this piece brought me back to those days. This is a large one! About 2 x 4 feet Hang on to summer! I am.
In just a few days, October 24 to be exact, will be the Handmade Show. Getting ready is hard when you are your own boss. As an artist, getting ready can be scary. You start to worry about having enough time to do what you want to do. So I keep telling myself that as long as I remember who I want to reflect and why...everything will work out. I have prayed hard and listened for God to point me in a direction. He keeps telling me to prepare. Prepare. It is that simple....prepare. So I am keeping the Joy and preparing. Thank you God for the gift of creating. Thank you also for the talent you gave me and I hope I make you proud.
We started our fall elementary class today and it was so much fun working with bright, sweet, well-behaved young ladies! We worked in acrylic and finished a sunflower painting. They were all so different and thought out. It is amazing what students can do at this age. They don't see limits, they see possibilities. As we get older, we start to close off those possibilities and we put limitations on what can be done or how it could be done. Creativity is needed in not only art but in so many other areas. Help your children to learn that sometimes there is more than one right answer. When you encounter a brick wall, find a what around it. Today in the Studio we found joyful ways of creating and discovered new ways of seeing.
There are 7 wonderful peeps signed up for our class...just 5 spots left before we are FULL! Come create with us!
Next Tuesday night at the Studio we will have our 2nd Creative Club at StudioBham in Homewood, AL. Who is this class for? Anyone who is curious about painting with watercolor and has wanted to try the medium without making a major investment in paint, paper and brushes. Let us do that and you can experiment! We will supply everything you need including a low stress environment with students of all ages. Bring what you want to drink and we will supply some light snacks. What we will learn...
what different brushes will do
